Everybody Moving On

This performance embraces all that is embarrassing. Exposing everything we avoid discussing. Revealing the indispositions only shared between two friends who, quite literally, believe they can take on the world with their dance moves. Daily frustrations are described, sung and laughed at. With party poppers, ‘nice’ manoeuvres and philosophies, such as, ‘Don’t leave your dog indoors for too long, it will shit’ the piece swings from the most common of territories into the absurd.

The overriding perspective of the performance is of life being considered as one big misunderstanding but contrary to this it is fuelled by a ridiculous amount enthusiasm for it. This work is not about anything specific, it’s about what it means to be human.

This performance forms a crucial development leading on from the first collaborative piece ‘Desperately Seeking Anything’ made by Holly & Jenny, shown at Colchester Arts Centre in November 2007. ‘Everybody Moving On’ will also be part of the performance festival I am your Worst nightmare at Arnolfini at the end April 2008.
